Shear Walls in the Field
|An Office Building|
|Coming into town you'll see this newer building
constructed in the late 70's or early 80's.
The window and door positions are back in some alignment - probably in deference to
to lateral load resistance concerns - and we are back to straight siding. Or are we?
Chances are the real shear-resisting material (plywood) is underneath the siding which
is used only for decoration.
