Shear Walls in the Field
An Office Building
Coming into town you'll see this newer building constructed in the late 70's or early 80's.
The window and door positions are back in some alignment - probably in deference to
to lateral load resistance concerns - and we are back to straight siding.  Or are we?
Chances are the real shear-resisting material (plywood) is underneath the siding which
is used only for decoration.
